What counts as a junk car?
A junk car is usually a vehicle that is no longer practical to keep, repair, insure, or sell privately. It might still start, or it might not move at all. The key is that the vehicle has become a problem instead of useful transportation.
Common examples include cars with expired registration, failed smog, major mechanical repairs, blown engines, transmission issues, missing catalytic converters, damaged interiors, or years of sitting unused.
